A Project Brief

This blog post is an addition to the capstone project I am working on for my Media Design program at Maryville University. For this blog, I will be documenting my process throughout my course. This process will direct my end product. My posts will help me self-analyze and discuss my ideas. I hope you are following along with me!
Description
My project will be the honey bee awareness campaign that provides apiaries and individual beehives to communities or individuals for the benefit of the environment with education about beekeeping. It will be a non-profit organization with the goal to help others and honey bees.

Future
In five years, this organization:
- It would look like a successful organization with a large team and a great following of people who want to change their communities while meeting new people.
- It would be a big organization and strive to be well-known or even as relevant as the largest honey bee organizations.
Business Model
- It would make money by taking donations from the public and offering membership to access lessons or educating facts from the organization with the promise their donation will be put towards helping other beekeepers who are people just like them.
Designed Products
The primary products will be
- A kit of everything needed for a hive, seed packet, beekeeping tools, and attire
- A website mockup
- Community outreach materials (donation programs, educational guides, brochures)
- Branding and identity (promotional content, posters, merchandise, packaging)
Purpose
- It exists because caring for honey bees is important because it is not only a hobby but giving back to the Earth.
- It would be meaningful because it is an amazing process to learn and appreciate the beauty that bees create.
- People will want it because it is something unique to experience for yourself and to tell others about it.
Why it Matters to Me
This project matters to me because I have a strong appreciation for honey bees and beekeeping because I was shown the experience of what it involves and I would want everyone to share that same experience.
